Jane
W. Carney is a founding partner of Carney and Delany
LLP, which was established in 1994. Jane’s areas
of focus include mergers and acquisitions as well as
general business and corporate law. She has over
28 years of experience in advising start-up, emerging,
and established companies in debt and equity financing,
contract
matters, corporate restructurings, dispute negotiation,
and ownership transitions. She has advised and represented
businesses
owners in a wide variety of industries in the purchase
of other business or the sale of all or a portion of
their own
business. She has formed numerous limited liability companies,
corporations, general partnerships, and limited partnerships. Jane
completed her undergraduate studies at the University of
California, Riverside and went on to obtain her Doctorate
of Law from the University of California Davis, School
of Law. For over twenty years, Jane has served her clients
and,
at the same time, served her profession and her community
with her strong leadership and membership in numerous committees.
She has been the President of the Riverside County Bar
Association, has chaired the Ad-Hoc Courts Committee and
been a member
of numerous other committees that serve and oversee the
legal profession. In addition, Jane has carved out time
to serve
her community. Her service includes holding the position
of Governing Board Member of the South Coast Air Quality
Management District; Chair of the Citizens University Committee;
Trustee of Riverside Community College; Vice Chair of Economic
Development; and Chair of Mayor Ron Loveridge’s Strategic
Action Team for Good Jobs. Her service has been recognized
by numerous awards, including the Citizen of the Year from
the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce; Krieger Meritorious
Service Award from the Riverside County Bar Association;
the Athena Award from the YWCA; and Woman of Achievement
Award from the Black Voice News.
